ABOUT

Hey, I'm Hannah! I'm a Chicago-based singer/dancer/actor/songwriter/comedian. Yup, all those things! Before I get into the details of telling you about my classical training, my style, and yada yada yada, I want to say thanks for being here! In return, I promise to keep it as real as possible because if there's one element I strive to keep consistent in all my work, it's authenticity.

I'm able to offer a strong, grounded energy on stage and am therefore not surprised when I find myself cast in roles like Varya in The Cherry Orchard, or Annie (the forlorn wife of Captain Ahab) in CMTF's production of Moby Dick. But one of my favorite roles was Susan in Tick, Tick...Boom! because I got to wear many hats, taking on the heavier content of Susan while also playing the comedic character roles of the mother, the agent, and Karessa.

Musically, I am influenced by flavors of pop, indie, and soul. Whether comedic or serious, I draw from personaI experience and write with a sometimes cheeky and always genuine vulnerability, wrapped up in a jammable tune.

Growing up in Nashville, TN, in an extremely musical family, I was highly encouraged and practically doomed to find myself with a career in the arts. I began dancing at 2 years old (mostly classical ballet and later modern and jazz), and never stopped. In high school, I fell in love with musical theatre and supported that passion with classical voice training, which I continue to study in tandem with MT, pop, and jazz styles.

I spent the next four years studying theatre, dance, and music at Macalester College, including an unforgettable semester studying at the Moscow Art Theatre School where I honed my acting skills.

Now in Chicago, I keep myself as busy as possible with auditions, performances, releasing original music, and taking classes to keep my skills sharp. To learn more about all that, keep perusing those tabs up there -- I hope I can inspire connection, make you feel something, and spark your curiosity!
